Math Duck: Duck Math Puzzle Game

Find the missing number, grab the key, reach the door. 15 levels from addition to times tables. Free, no sign-up.

How to play Math Duck

  1. Read the equation in the top-left box. One number is replaced by a question mark.
  2. Work out the missing number, then jump to the floating number tile that matches. Wrong tiles send you back to the start.
  3. Once you have the right number, the key lights up. Grab it and run to the door on the right.
  4. Avoid the grey spikes and watch the timer. If it runs out, the level restarts with the same equation.

Controls

Arrow keys or A / D to move, Up, W or Space to jump. On phones use the on-screen buttons.

Math skills and grades

Skills: Mental addition, subtraction, multiplication and division facts, plus solving for an unknown number.

Best for: Grades 1 to 6 (ages 6 to 12).

Tips for parents and teachers

  • Levels 1 to 3 use sums up to about 12, levels 4 to 6 add subtraction up to 20, levels 7 to 9 go up to 60, levels 10 to 12 practise times tables from 2 to 10, and levels 13 to 15 add 12s and division.
  • Let your child say the equation aloud before jumping. Naming the unknown ("what plus 4 makes 9?") is the real algebra practice.

Math Duck questions

Is this the same as the Math Duck game on Coolmath Games?

No. Coolmath Games hosts a different game that shares the name. The Math Duck here is an original game made for Duck Math. It uses a similar idea (a duck, a missing number and a door) but its levels, art and code are our own. Duck Math is not affiliated with Coolmath Games.

Can I play Math Duck on a phone?

Yes. On touch screens, left, right and jump buttons appear under the game. Rotate to landscape for a bigger view.

How many levels are there?

Fifteen. Equations are generated fresh each time, so replaying a level gives new numbers.

Does it work offline or need a download?

It runs in the browser with no download or sign-up. You need a connection to load the page the first time.
