Press Start. Each wrong pop costs 3 seconds.
How to play Bubble Pop Math
- Read the target number above the pond, for example 24.
- Bubbles rise carrying expressions such as 6 × 4, 12 + 12 or 30 − 6. Pop the ones that equal the target.
- Each wrong pop costs 3 seconds. After six right pops the target changes and the game gets a little faster.
- When time runs out your score is compared with your saved best.
Controls
Tap or click a bubble. Bubbles are also buttons you can reach with Tab and Enter.
Math skills and grades
Skills: Flexible number sense: seeing that 6 × 4, 12 + 12 and 30 − 6 are all 24.
Best for: Grades 3 to 7 (ages 8 to 13).
Tips for parents and teachers
- Seeing one number written many ways is the root of algebra, so this is more than a speed game.
- Ask your child to say the expression and its value aloud when they pop.
- Targets are small (6 to 20) at first and grow up to 100 at higher levels.
Bubble Pop Math questions
Which operations appear?
Addition, subtraction and multiplication facts. A correct bubble always equals the target exactly.
Can wrong bubbles be close to the target?
Yes, wrong bubbles are within about 6 of the target so that guessing does not work.
